The Million Dollar Grant, and Another Success Story
Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!
Dear Friends & Neighbors,
In 2017, Amazon selected Friendship Place to receive a $1 million matching grant. Friendship Place had a deadline of December 31st to raise the matching funds and I am proud to announce that WE DID IT!
Because of people like you, Friendship Place will be able to change the trajectory for even more individuals and families facing homelessness.
As a member of the board and on behalf of the entire Friendship Place family, thank you again for being a part of this extraordinary campaign! And, as always, thank you for being a neighbor and friend who genuinely cares.
Happy Home Success Story: Jeremiah & Diana
“We ended up getting a great price without having to overdo it with repairs, and staging. We’d already bought a house in Connecticut, and we wanted to be able to stay at the home we were selling until it was time to move into our new home in Connecticut. She was able to help us sell early, close, and stay in the house until it was time for us to move.
There were 2 aspects of our selling experience with Marjorie that were outstanding: Her understanding of the market, and confidence in her ability to sell the house at the best price that could be gotten. She made the process very smooth and much less stressful than we’d experienced previously with other agents.
Marjorie’s resources made the process a lot smoother than we could’ve imagined.
She was the captain of a team of people that were always available to help us. Any question large or small she was able to help us get the answer, and she explained how she best believed that we could benefit from the newly gathered information.
She was great at communicating to her network of plumbers, electricians, landscapers, and storage team. Each person she sent our way showed up immediately and charged reasonably, especially given the amount of hard work that they put into fixing things up around our place.
She explained very well what her strategy was, both before and after the house was on the market. The pricing strategy was excellent and it brought us a larger return than we originally imagined.
We met with Marjorie a total of two or three times before the house went on the market. She put a lot into the planning but she was also very flexible to accommodate our needs and our schedule. She’s very clear and persuasive, she’s not at all pushy and she provided us with various options every step of the way.
Marjorie and her team used a number of different strategies, to make sure that we were taken care of and our needs were met throughout the process.
It was very impressive that Marjorie had a strategy to send a message around to her email list with the type of buyer that the house would attract. She also used our input on the house in her marketing and that meant a lot to us.
Originally, the plan was to fix it up and stage it before putting it on the market. Staging level 1 involved some clearing out of the house. She walked in to see how things had already been staged and transformed. It was Marjorie personally showing up that was truly invaluable to us because she was able to adapt the initial strategy to ensure that our return well outweighed the costs spent on repairs. It was her effort that made the difference to us. She was able to pivot the strategy to best suit our house and our immediate goals because she was present with us.
Marjorie’s presence alongside us in the house allowed her to determine that we could present the home formally on the market after just the first level of staging, and she maximized the price in relation to the demand of the market so we were able to receive the optimal price for the property.
She is a master of the moving pieces, and you can tell that she enjoys being really active in the home-selling process. Marjorie’s expertise and energy brought confidence and reassurance to our happy home-selling success story.”
